Ch. 34/Day 26: Four of Cups
“Don’t give me that cute ol’ big eyed look,” Facilier said, trying to steel himself against the flood of emotions watching Luxord react was giving him. “I’m still mad at you, but kicking you out now would be as bad as putting a kitten out in a hurricane. Get inside before my good sense gets ahold of me.”
Luxord rose slowly, like the effort of moving weighed him down, until he was back on his feet. Facilier was reminded of how short the man was – Luxord was usually such a ham that the fact he was a head shorter than Facilier usually slipped his mind. It was rare to see him acting as small as he looked.
“Thank you,” Luxord said, and Facilier could see a dozen other things hiding inside that short statement. He was looking up at Facilier as if he had personally provided fish and bread to an entire mountain full of people.
“What did I say about giving me that cute look? Get into the house,” Facilier said, and turned towards the trapdoor back into his bedroom.
