Fancy Ramen

Tonight’s dinner is fancy ramen! @gallusrostromegalus

• Delicious and better than regular ramen. What you do is:
• hard boil an egg. Cover and egg in a saucepan with about an inch of water. Cover and start that sucker boiling. When it reaches a ~rolling boil~ start a timer for 7 minutes. When the time is up, take the egg out and put it into some ice water.
• Don’t dump out the water that you boiled the egg in! Pop your $1 packet of maruchan ramen into it and put it back on the heat! Saving water and time hell yeah
• Slice up some baby carrots into little strips. When your ramen is almost but not fully cooked to your preference, throw those carrots in the water to cook a lil
• Dump the water and put the ramen into the bowl. You can make the carrots all cute to one side or just throw them in as well. Peel the egg, cut it in half long ways, and put that in the bowl as well.
• Got any green onion? Cut that sucker up and put it on top! Green onion makes anything look fancy.
• Eat! You are not a starving college student! You are a chef
• Experiment. You can try this with mushroom, crispy seaweed, broth, meat probably, anything you want

Very nice!  Some suggestions from my college days:

• Better Than Bullion is a broth base that tastes hella good, keeps a long time in your fride and tasts hella good.
• You can also add sauce or gravy mixes if you want a less soupy and more stew like ramen.  adding a block of Golden Curry was a fave of mine.
• Dehydrated mushrooms can be pricey, but they keep well, add a ton of flavor and count as a vegetable.
• if you don’t like the texture of hard-boiled eggs, crack an egg into the still-boiling ramen right before you finish and stire it to create scrambled eggs in your ramen.
• If you’ve got a cold: add ginger,Lemon juice, Sriracha or other hot sauce, and/or garlic.  it’ll help the infammation/pain. 
• Other vegetables to add: Celery, broccoli, cabbage, arugula, corn, peas and/or sliced Bell Peppers.
