tbh whenever i see speculation in the kh fandom about whether or not vanitas is gonna be in kh3 and if so what side will he be on in the inevitable clash with xehanort and will he get a redemption arc or not all i think about is how i canât imagine things with vanitas playing out any other way than
This reminds me of the âpenny auctionsâ of the Great Depression.
Iâm reblogging this again, because I forgot to mention;Â
My family has lived in Iowa for, oh, a hundred and twenty years? Maybe a hundred and thirty.
My grandpa and grandma and great grandpa and grandma were part of the penny auctions and bullying bankers and mortgage holders into behaving.Â
Grandpa was 6âČ 3âł. Great grandpa was an inch shorter. Both were big old farm boys, who could heft an eighty pound hay bale in each hand and toss them up on the hay wagon.Â
Grandma told me a few times about how they went around with some of their buddies to âexplain thingsâ to mortgage holders during the Depression, and how the farmers would all get together for coffee and settle among everyone in the township how no one was going to bid on the Miller auction but the Millers, and oh, if everyone could chip in fifty cents or so to loan the Millers to buy their land and equipment back at the auction, thatâd be the Right Thing To Do. Â
This is still a point of pride for many farming families around here, decades later.Â
Alright alright alright back at it again with Hurricane info since Florence is gonna be bearing down on the Carolinas in a few days
Know your local shelters, just in case! IF YOU HAVE PETS BE AWARE OF THE ONES THAT ACCEPT PETS! Unfortunately not all of them do
Beware of price gouging! Especially on gas!
BE PREPARED FOR GAS STATIONS TO RUN OUT OF GAS!
SOMETHING TO ADD:
DO NOT ASSUME YOUâLL BE ABLE TO GET THINGS VIA PRIME RIGHT BEFORE THE STORM
I could not stress this more. It was a HUGE issue last year! Amazon can and WILL run out of things in their warehouses- INCLUDING FANS, BATTERIES, AND PORTABLE CHARGERS. And shipping will be delayed due to the storm! If thereâs anything AT ALL you need from amazon via Prime order it ASAP. 3rd party sellers were gouging the shit out of stuff like fans just before Irma last year on amazon so if you want stuff and donât want to pay and arm and a leg for it, GET IT NOW
Donât bother with buying things like flour and eggs and milk! Donât buy perishables! If you lose power they will do nothing for you!
Fill gallon freezer bags with water, seal them tightly with duct tape, and freeze them before the storm! If you lose power youâll be able to toss them in your fridge to keep it cooler longer! Youâll also have extra emergency water if you need it
âI want to see more girl monsters. Girl giants, girl dragons, hulks & trolls. Scylla and hydra. Girl monsters who are huge and whole. Teeth and plush fur and long muscled tails. Heads enough to see you anywhere. Gleaming green or brown. But girl monsters are usually zombies or vampires. Pale and thin, bleeding or dead. Not Lady Lazarus, not a phoenix from the ash. I want to see how you get strong without being broken first. Get strong and stay strong. Get big and bigger.â
