What a difference 9 weeks makes in a kitten. Sundew turns 12 weeks old tomorrow.
You can start to get a sense of how majestic he will look as an adult, but you’re right… I did NOT give any permission for him to cease being a stupid round fluffball.
It’s also why at my shelter I advise against people getting kittens purely because they’re cute. The cute kitten stage is vanishingly short and then you have 15+ years of cat. I look forward to all those years with my glorious Sundew.

I considered myself to be well versed on cats/communicating with cats. I’ve lived with at least two cats my whole life, and currently live with two very different cats who I love. Apparently most cats are shoulder cats? My cat Mason has always been very nervous about going up on people’s shoulders, so I thought I’d try the “shoulder cat” technique.
I had to help him up on my shoulders because he’s never done it himself before. But once I got him up there I squished him, he started purring like nobody’s business. I carried him around our entire apartment, up and down staircases, and he was so happy. He didn’t try to leave once! When I put him down he head butted me and meowed and was super affectionate. And of course I gave him a treat.
TLDR- Even if you live with cats and think you understand cats, please watch this video.

she only goes into her room to eat, use the litterbox, and occasionally bat at the dangly mouse
she would rather hang out in our bed, which is her bed, and look out the window (it is a very popular window) (we have not painted the windowsill/trim yet so it’s not a great look right now, don’t judge)
she is also determined to steal 8ball’s food, even though he gets fed the same food as her, and there is plenty of food in her dish, and if you pick her up and set her in front of her dish she will resume eating her own food without complaint
