Look man if you want the CC Rant™ that’s going to delay the PC salt for like. A week or something. Even the tl;dr would probably have to be Raul’s Secretary Rant length.

All right, doing this as a reblog of the previous post because this way it won’t show up in the Chrono Cross search.

I don’t know how much you know, anon, but for background: Chrono Cross is the sequel to Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Trigger is widely regarded as one of the single greatest video games ever made. It’s certainly the closest thing to a perfect game that I’ve ever played- not that it’s entirely without flaw or frustration, but it knows exactly what it wants to be and it does a fantastic job of being that.

Cross, however, is a lot more controversial.

(The one thing absolutely no one has anything bad to say about is the music, which is absolutely phenomenal.)

I’m going to plant my flag in the ground at the start here: I think that Chrono Cross is, aside from the major flaws I’m about to summarize, a genuinely good game.

And an astonishingly bad sequel.
